The academy is a built as cooperation between Arsenal Football Club, JMG Academy and the Vietnamese privately owned Hoang Anh Gia Lai Corporation. This football academy is the first one in Vietnam so far. In Vietnam, football is the number one sport. However, Vietnam has won just a few cups in ASEAN football tournaments with the most recent one being the AFF Suzuki Cup as Thailand is still the best team in the region. The causes of low success rate of Vietnam’s football team are always the lack of systematic training. One of the aims of the academy is to help to promote Vietnam’s football team in future matches.
